About Project Maji
Who we are
Project Maji is a not-for-profit social enterprise, working to bring sustainable access to safe water in rural communities across sub-Saharan Africa. Project Maji has been operational for six years, with a vision to end rural poverty. Founded in Ghana in 2015, operations expanded into Kenya in 2017. We have now installed and operate more than 100 kiosks in villages of 1,000 people or less and are on target to achieve our mission; to provide sustainable access to safe water to 1 million people by 2025.
What we do
Project Maji designs, develops, and installs solar-powered water kiosks. We apply a business mindset, whereby our sites are self-sustaining. Our kiosks and small piped systems are fit-for-purpose to withstand harsh environments and they are modular, customizable, mobile-enabled, affordable, and durable.
We are a member of the International Humanitarian City in Dubai and have won numerous awards for our approach to tackle rural water challenges, including the Mohamed Bin Rashid Global Water Aid Award in 2019.
